Nuances, like "Yaoi/Yuri YOWZA!", "OTAKUmmitment Ceremony", & the enigmatic "TAKII Wild Card", inspire Asian culture die-hards from all walks of life to take it "to the extreme" in the ultimate quest for illusive infamy & sweet swag. In celebration of all that is yaoi/yuri, TAKII proudly presents "Yaoi/Yuri YOWZA", a homo-rific, TAKII-style version of the Newlywed Game with plenty of twists & turns for contestants & audience alike to enjoy! People with #1 Contender's Passes will be asked to pair up with someone of the same gender & will be given up to 4 minutes to acquaint themselves with one-another before the game begins. After being provided the necessary materials to write down their answers, our über-sexy guest host will introduce our contestants to the following rounds of play:
* ROUND 1 = MINDREADERS
o Correctly guess how your partner would finish a sentence.
* ROUND 2 = TRUTH & CONSEQUENCES
o Answer "true" or "false" to statements asked of your partner.
* ROUND 3 = MULTIPLE CHOICE MADNESS
o Select the right answer based upon how your partner would answer.
* FINAL ROUND = SUPER SECRET
o The couple with the highest score has 1 more epic task to complete....!
Each correct answer will earn your couple 10 points. Questions answered correctly in succession add +10 points to the answer value, topping out at 50 points per answer. A wrong answer will earn no deduction, but will drop your answer value back to 10 points per answer. All the while, each couple must keep the audience entertained with "displays of affection" or risk being booed off the stage for now showing "true love" (LOL!). Once the dust of holy matrimony has settled, the couple who ends up earning the most points overall & completes the Final Round will be declared our "Yaoi/Yuri YOWZA!" Champs!

Celebrating relationships of all shapes & sizes, this groundbreaking festivity will give everyone the opportunity to see that love, liberty, & happiness are within each person's reach & how special it is to take that journey with a significant other. Led by a "TAKII-ordained preacher" & featuring musical selections from this season's guests & performers, our "OTAKUmmitment Ceremony" promises to be 1 of the most emotional & equality-driven tributes to passion & love Asian culture fandom has ever seen, or will ever see again. In order to infiltrate Earth & steal Star Seeds, Sailor Galaxia & her Shadow Galactica minions set up shop as the broadcasting outfit known as Galaxy TV (or Ginga TV, per the original Japanese version). As far as the anime was concerned, if you think about it, the station lacked actual programming! TAKII 13 ~United We Stand~ corrects this terrible oversight with "Only On "Galaxy TV""! By way of a random lottery, the fusion festival will select 4 individuals to lead 3 different teams: Team "Iron Mouse", Team "Aluminum Siren VS Lead Crow" (2 people will lead), & Team "Nyanko". It will be the jobs of these individuals to spend time during TAKII 13 to recruit people in producing a 10-minute show for the TAKII fanatics in attendance! At each team's disposal will be anything & everything they can get their hands on, inside & outside of The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational, within a reasonable time frame. Once the pre-determined deadline is reached, the 3 teams will reunite & then take turns on Main Stage presenting their "shows" to the audience & will be judged by our secret panel of Asian culture fandom professionals & enthusiasts on 1) preparation, 2) execution, 3) audience reaction, & 4) overall entertainment value. The team that out-performs everyone else will have their show "renewed" & will become our "Only On "Galaxy TV"" Champs!
In previous seasons of The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational, everyone was treated to epic dessert battles, TAKII birthday cakes, & Bawls. However, what do you get when you combine 2 master chefs, tons of food, a secret ingredient, & multitudes of TAKII fanatics? You get "Iron Chef X-Treme", of course! Hosted by none other than Pink Lady fanatic Jeffrey Branch, contestants will be split into 2 teams, each one being captained by the most experienced chef among them, Afterwards, each team will be given a chance to take turns in selecting various food items (provided by TAKII 13's vendors & sponsors) that their team can use. They will also be given a modest stipend, which they can use to purchase additional ingredients from within TAKII itself, or the surrounding area(s) (any monies left over will be donated to our Charity Beneficiaries). Before food preparations begin, our host will unveil the season's "classified ingredient" (cue dramatic music HERE :-P)! As these teams use whatever culinary items & skill at their disposal in a time-limited setting, they will have to keep track of the exact recipes they are following. Meanwhile, audience members will be treated to live interviews with our chefs, as well as guest commentary by our esteemed panel of judges (a-la the original Iron Chef) & some video featurettes that only a TAKII fanatic could love. When the time runs out, our judges will sample each dish prepared by our teams & the one with the highest score wins "Iron Chef X-Treme"! At the conclusion of the show, attendees will be welcomed to sample what's left of the dished prepared & the recipes used will be posted on our website soon afterwards (^_^).

It allows us the ability to pay for supplies, outside vendor fees, guest & performer travel/lodging, prizes, charity donation, & SO MUCH MORE. By being a part of this elite group of supporters, among other things, you will get graciously treated to our inaugural "#1 Contender's Pass Brunch-N-Munch"! Chow down on some edible delights on the final morning of TAKII 13 ~United We Stand~ weekend with some of the season's most dynamic personalities, as well as fellow #1 Contender's Pass holders. As everyone is eating everything from dim sum to breakfast burritos, "Brunch-N-Munch" participants will be entertained by a few live musical selections from TAKII 13's Guests & Performers, as well as a video tribute dedicated to Pass holders! "#1 Contender's Pass Brunch-N-Munch", may it fill up not only your stomach, but your soul ^_^.
Do you have that bugger of a problem where when you open your mouth, nothing good ever seems to come out? Well with "SINs"ASIAN"al Charades", you won't have that problem & you could be rewarded in the process! All throughout TAKII 13 weekend, attendees will be asked to write down random items & situations on slips of paper & submit them to our Team TAKII Registration Coalition Co-Coordinator. Then when it comes time to play "SINs"ASIAN"al Charades", TAKII fanatics will be asked to gather on our Main Stage. Afterwards, 1 by 1, each contestant will be given 4 minutes to randomly select suggestions collected earlier & will select an attendee to correctly guess what they are trying to act out. To do this, the contestant can only use whatever is on their body without writing anything down or saying what the suggestion is. This cycle will play itself out until all contestants have gone & the player to have the most correct attendee guesses within the time limit will be crowned our "SINs"ASIAN"al Charades" Champion!
Based off of its namesake originator Family Feud, TAKII 13's version will pit 2 families (groups of unlimited, but equal size) against each other, taking turns in correctly guessing the top responses to a series of Asian-related survey questions (as taken by members of TAKII's club sponsor, The Lost Otakus). To begin, a member of each family will come to the center, with the game show host asking the 1st question of the round. The order of play will be determined by who is able to guess the higher-ranked response. That family will, in turn, have the chance to guess what the rest of the responses are (& be able to conference with their own family). Participants are asked not to speak out of turn & to adhere to any time restrictions given. Three incorrect responses in a round will result in the opposite family getting a shot at the board. If that family is able to guess 1 correct response after the other family has striked out, the points accumulated go to them. In the final round of play, each family will be asked to select a secret bonus card (that could have a positive, or negative impact on their score) & a member to guess at correct responses to the last survey question. Afterwards, each family will reveal their bonus cards & the one with the most points at the end will be declared our "Fusion Festival Family Feud" Champions!
A TAKII festivity original, "Otaku Jeopardy" is proudly brought to you by West Chester, PA's The Lost Otakus, hosted by Team TAKII member Bunni Long! While it may follow the same basic format of the original Jeopardy game we all know & love, there will be quite a few twists & turns in the game that no one will wanna miss. The audience will be split into multiple teams, with each team member taking turns choosing their category of choice & answering the question at hand. With many thousands of questions from multiple categories spanning the genres of Asian culture fandom, will YOUR team be the last ones standing & receive "Otaku Jeopardy"'s highly sought-after championship? ...."IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!!"
For those of you who don't know what "cosplaying" is, it's the act of dressing up as your favorite character/personality from anime, manga, TV, movies, or otherwise. Others take it to a whole new level in actually embodying, whole-heartedly, their namesakes. If any of this sounds like you, then "Cosplay Battle Royale" is for you! Since TAKII 3, our cosplay offerings have continued to shock & awe TAKII enthusiasts to new heights each & every season, with TAKII 13 not being any different. Along with our time-tested classics, we will be adding some new festivities for this season's "Cosplay Battle Royale", which will include you having the opportunity to win championships & prizes in the following:
* CHALLENGE 1 = CRAFTSMANSHIP CHALLENGE
o To compete on this level, your costume needs to be hand-made....by you!
* CHALLENGE 2 = THEATRIC CHALLENGE
o You can make/buy your costume for this, but you must show a skill on stage!
* CHALLENGE 3 = WALK-ON CHALLENGE
o This is for people who prefer to just walk across the stage & look pretty!
Aside from battling for costumed glory, cosplayers can also get their portraits professionally taken by our very own cosplay savant, Dokudel (for a nominal fee). Past seasons of TAKII have also seen random cosplay meet-ups in some very random spots all over the Greater Philadelphia area (lol). But while you can attend TAKII 13 in a cosplay & not compete, where's the excitement & drama in that? There ain't none! So watcha waitin' for? The prayers of TAKII faithful who have relatively no professional talent (or shame, depending on how you wanna look at it LOL) have been answered in the form of "AMEN Talent Showcase", sponsored by PDNMZ's Asian Multimedia Entertainment Network (AMEN)! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to do something simply mind-blowing to invoke an extreme emotion from the TAKII fans who would be watching your display of talent(less) skill. Your only limits are adhering to TAKII's "Rules & Regulations" & your own inhibitions. Judging will be based upon a combination of who gets the most audience applause & scoring from our special guest judges (in the event of a tie). Will you reign supreme!? We shall see.... ^_^.
A key component to each & every season of The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational has always been TAKII fanatic interaction & participation. Whether it be in our of our many festivities, or as a Team TAKII Coalition Member, everyone's participation has made the past 12 seasons such a joy to produce. At The Lost Otakus meetings every month, we have what are called "fixed titles" (shows we watch each meeting until the end of the series) & "random picks" (random music videos or episodes of obscure, amazing, or even unsavory Anime). Some of the best that has been seen, or has yet to be shown, will be coming in the form of the "TLO Video Lounge"! The Lost Otakus will do their best to give you the broadest line-up around of things to see in both subtitled & dubbed format. Specifically for TAKII 13 ~United We Stand~, however, we will place special emphasis on everyone's favorite screenings for the past 12 seasons of The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational! For a complete list of titles to be shown, make sure you download your copy of this season's "Hardcore Handbook" ASAP. All ages, backgrounds, & interests will be represented; whether that is a good or a bad thing remains to be seen ^_^.
A tried & true artform from Asian culture fandom dating as far back as your old VHS tapes, fanatics get together to compile their favorite video clips from Asian-themed shows against their own choice of music to produce masterpieces that are known as AMVs, or animated music videos. And after taking a hiatus for a few seasons, The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational's "AMV Battle Royale" is back & with a vengeance in time for TAKII 13 ~United We Stand~! But seeing as how we are dealing with "the world's most extreme Asian culture fusion festival", we can NEVER do things the normal or easy way ^_^. As such, TAKII fanatics all over the Universe will be tasked to compose AMVs in the following categories:
* MOST EXTREME
o A freestyle AMV that stretches the confines of reality to a true TAKII extreme
o VIDEO REQUIREMENTS: It must consist of a majority of Asian-themed visuals
o AUDIO REQUIREMENTS: You may use any audio source you'd like
o All other "AMV Battle Royale" rules/restrictions apply
* TAKII 13 CHAMPIONSHIP CHALLENGE
o An AMV challenge of epic proportions that must adhere to the following:
o VIDEO REQUIREMENTS: You can only use footage from TAKII 13's theme
o AUDIO REQUIREMENTS: You may use any audio source you'd like
o All other "AMV Battle Royale" rules/restrictions apply
All entries must be received by May 19th, 2012. Then when TAKII 13 ~United We Stand~ comes around, all qualified AMVs will be shown & judged based upon which 1 gets the most audience applause in each category & TAKII Coordinator scores (in the event of a tie). "TAKII Guest & Performer Q&A" is everyone's chance to intimately interact with the fusion festival's esteemed guests & performers for TAKII 13. With a mix of pre-recorded & live segments, we'll be asking our subjects questions that TAKII fans worldwide would like to have answers to (....& maybe some TMI along the way LOL). Interviewees will also be invited to take part in autograph signings & photoshoots, so anything goes!
The "TAKII Wild Card" is the only festivity in TAKII history that will actually take place AFTER the weekend-long fusion festival ends. It will be 1 festivity so spectacular, so immense, so undeniably deserving of its place in otaku history books worldwide, that you will have to stick around TAKII 13 to enjoy its epic awesomeness! It could be a sushi buffet, another special guest, exclusive giveaways, or....your mom!? Your guess is as good as ours (LOL), but we assure you that it will revolve around the principles on which TAKII promotes & exemplifies. Each season of The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational will reign in a different "TAKII Wild Card" festivity flava!
